A photo reportage about my buddhist pilgrimage in India and Nepal.
I went to the four main pilgrimage sites linked to important events of the life of Gautama Buddha.
- Lumbini (Nepal): birthplace of Siddhartha Gautma.
- Both Gaya (Bihar, India): the most important religious site and place of pilgrimage with the Mahabodhi Temple which is builded on the Bodhi Tree where the Buddha realized enlightenment and Budhahood.
- Sarnath (Uttar Pradesh, India): where Gautama Buddha delivered his first teaching about the Four Noble Truth and the Noble Etightfold Path.
- Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh, India): where Gautama Buddha died and attained Parinirvana.
After visiting these sacred places, I continue my pilgrimage in Kathmandu to visit the Swayambunath Stupa known as the Monkey Temple situated on a hill with a great view over the city and I visited the majestic Bodnath Stupa, one of the biggest stupa in the world.
